Who We Are

Power Up Futures Foundation, Inc. (PUFF-USA) is a U.S.-incorporated, IRS-recognized Section 501(c)(3) public charity advancing equitable access to skills, leadership, opportunity and economic participation for young people and women across Africa and the Global South.

Through its flagship programmes, partnerships, scholarships, research and public-benefit initiatives, PUFF-USA helps individuals and institutions address barriers created by unemployment, skills exclusion, gender inequality, limited opportunity mobility, and unequal access to internationally relevant capability pathways.

Mission

To expand equitable access to skills, leadership and opportunity pathways that strengthen economic mobility, institutional capability, innovation and inclusive social advancement.

Vision

A world in which every young person and woman can build the capability, confidence and connections required to participate meaningfully in the future economy.

The Challenge

A Generation of Opportunity Cannot Be Left Behind

Africa is entering one of the most consequential demographic and workforce transitions in history. Five figures define the scale of the task — and why PUFF-USA exists.

Our Flagship Programmes

Two flagship programmes, each with its own mandate

FutureReady Africa 1M Voices
A continental youth and university mobilisation initiative preparing young Africans for the future of work, project execution, enterprise, digital transformation and leadership.
Power Up Women Africa
A continental advancement and opportunity platform enabling African women to understand their position, build verified capability, and advance into careers, enterprise, leadership, influence and economic participation.
Coordinating Framework

GSTLW

GSTLW — the Global Secretariat for Skills, Talent and Leadership for the Workforce — is the Foundation's coordinating framework for research, institutional partnerships and convening. It operates within PUFF-USA's legal and governance framework and is not a separate legal entity or a flagship programme.

History

PUFF-USA was incorporated in Delaware as a nonprofit corporation and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) in December 2025. The Foundation entered its founding mobilization phase in 2026, consolidating two flagship programmes — FutureReady Africa 1M Voices and Power Up Women Africa — under a single governance and public-benefit framework, and establishing four shared capabilities to serve both.

Access designed for those furthest from opportunity — low-income, rural and gender-excluded populations first.
Leadership & Empowerment
Capability, confidence and voice, not dependency.
Innovation & Future Readiness
Programmes built for the economy that is arriving, not the one that is leaving.
Transparency & Accountability
Published methods, verified figures, and clear separation of charitable and commercial activity.
Collaboration & Partnership
Institutions achieve together what none achieve alone.
Excellence & Transformation
Quality standards that make participation credible to employers and institutions.
Governance

PUFF-USA is governed by a Board of Directors and maintains policies addressing financial oversight, conflicts of interest, safeguarding, records retention, annual filings, programme integrity and related-party transactions.
